Munnar Tour Package

Munnar was the summer resort of the British India. Rising more than 1600 meters above sea level, the mountain peaks remain covered by a misty gown most of the year. At the foot hill of Anamudy, the tallest mountain in the Western Ghats. Munnar Hills Hill Stations in South India being known for their sleepy image and low profile need to be refurbished. Munnar has a lot of significance in its nomenclaturing and its glorious historical backdrop too, makes it no lightweight. Munnnar as a lesser-known Hill Station in India was the Summer Capital of British Raj in South India with numerous proud precedents attached to its history and origin. It is really a place waiting to be discovered.

  • Day 1 Eravikulam National Park : One of the main attractions near Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park. Located about 15 km from Munnar, this park is famous for its endangered inhabitant - the Nilgiri Tahr. Spread over an area of 97 sq. km., this park is also home to several species of rare butterflies, animals and birds. A great place for trekking, the park offers a magnificent view of the tea plantations and also the rolling hills caressed by blankets of mists.
  • Day 2 Anamudi Peak : Located inside the Eravikulam National Park is the Anamudi Peak. This is the highest peak in south India standing at a height of over 2700 m. Treks to the peak are allowed with permission from the Forest and Wildlife authorities at Eravikulam.
  • Day 3 Mattupetty dam and lake : Boating on the calm serene Mattupetty lake is a not-to-miss affair. The lake is on the border of a forest and if the travellers are lucky they could have the sight of elephant herds strolling on the grass land.
  • Day 4 Tiger Trail: The Tiger trail at the Reserve has earned reputation worldwide as a model community based eco-tourism programme. It also stands out for a special reason - your guides would be ex-poachers who have left the job and live for a different mission in the present. Armed Forest Department guards with communication equipment will also be part of the team.
